Dramashop’s 2018-2019 season will open with THE LARAMIE PROJECT by Moises Kaufman and the members of the Techtonic Theatre Project.
On October 12, 1998, a 21-year old college student died from injuries sustained six days earlier in a brutal attack. The death of Matthew Shepard shook a college town and stunned a nation. Matthew Shepard was gay, and Matthew Shepard was murdered. The questions that arose divided a community and resonated across America. Twenty years later, the story of what happened in Laramie Wyoming, is still painfully relevant.
The play challenges actors and audience members alike, with eight actors playing more than sixty characters over three acts.
